As a photographer, I'm always experimenting with different techniques and equipment. Recently, I had the opportunity to try out a Soviet medium format TLR camera for wetplate collodion photography, and it was an interesting experience. I decided to photograph a small angel in my studio using this technique, and the first results are not bad. But keep in mind the minimum distance from the subject is about 1,5 meters. I'm grateful for the chance to push myself to try something new and prepare the camera as a good starting point for wet plate photography.

This weekend in May 2023 I prepared the camera for shooting collodion, these are the first results. I photographed any adjustments to wet collodion - only minor adjustments are needed, so that the silver does not react on the sides and does not turn into a metallic state. Otherwise, it does not look bad at all for this amateur camera, it is a good start for beginners to wet collodion - may the camera continue to serve!
