For me, visiting Prague often means finding time to see an interesting exhibition. Another imaginary “fulfillment of duty” was my wish to see the works of Mr. Frani Drtikola in natura. While browsing through the exhibition offers, I came across an exhibition of this model by many photographers. The choice was immediately clear. The exhibition was placed in Museum of Applied Arts and was held on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the birth of František Drtikol. It is dedicated to Josef Richard Marek, the author of Drtikol's first monograph. October 9, 2013 was my first day with Mr. Drtikol.
As I read, the exhibited working studies and variations were not intended for public presentation at the time. This made me even more interested in visiting the exhibition.

The exhibition was also accompanied by an audiovisual program, which included a short documentary about Drtikol's life. It is interesting that Drtikol's work was created during the financial crisis, when his studio was not very prosperous. Moreover, certain works that Fráň created at that time, he did with the knowledge that he would not profit from them. Such works should be valued all the more. I was thrilled with the exhibition and the occasional interruption by a group of young tourists, for whom the visit was probably a little uninteresting, did not change that. Perhaps the mandatory "school" exhibition discouraged them from concentrating more on the presented objects. The quality of Fráň's work was underappreciated in his time, but this is unfortunately the case with some artists only after their physical existence. It is up to people to maintain and commemorate their legacy in the memory of future generations, from whom we can study the author's work and take it as an inspirational impulse for our own work. — ENGLISH VERSION —

The exhibition was accompanied by an audio-visual program, which included a short documentary about the life of Drtikol.
It is interesting that Drtikol's art was created during the time of financial crisis, when his studio did not prosper. In addition, certain works which at that time Fráňa formed, were made with the understanding that it does not bring any financial benefit. Therefore it is important to appreciate such works.
I was excited and nothing changed on it an occasional interference of young tourists, for which it was probably a bit boring. Perhaps an obligation of that young people a little discouraged them to be more focused on the true content.
The quality of Drtikol's work was unappreciated in his time period, but this is nothing unusual by artists.
It is dependent on people to keep and remind their messages in the memory for future generations, from which we can study artists' work and take it as an inspirational impulse for our own work.
