How are we in Třebíč? pink festival wines popularized collodion photography

I spent Saturday 18.6.16 very pleasantly in the company of my assistant, my daughter Olivia on Rose wine festivals in my hometown Trebic.
The day was physically very demanding. We had to move all the photographic equipment to Třebíč Castle to the adjacent park.

Část fotografické výbavy pro focení v exteriéru na mokré kolodium, váha zhruba 40 kg

Part of the photographic equipment for outdoor photography using wet collodion, weight approximately 40 kg

I didn't plan to take too many photos, but rather to explain to visitors the essence of collodion photography and present the general method of work.

Most people are not very familiar with collodion photography, which is not to be blamed. So I explained to all those interested in a portrait that it is really not possible to take photos with collodion in natural light in the early evening. The exposure times that day were around 20 seconds and longer, and no one can really stand that without moving / unless they are supported /.

During a very warm to hot day, I created several illustrative photographs in various lighting conditions.
Here are some examples:

Bára, Tintype, Eastman Kodak

Bára, Tintype, approx. 21 seconds! in the shade of a tree, late afternoon, Eastman Kodak 2D camera

Hugo, Tintype, Eastman Kodak

Hugo, Tintype, approx. 12 seconds at low aperture in the shade of a tree, early evening, Eastman Kodak 2D camera

Peter, Tintype, Eastman Kodak

Peter, Tintype, about 12 seconds at a low aperture, the sun was already slowly setting, Eastman Kodak camera

— (shortened) ENGLISH VERSION —

A few weeks ago we spent a great whole day with my young assistant, my daughter Olivia. The day was exhausting and generally not about taking pictures for me. I wanted to show part of my work in my hometown and especially I tried to explain visitors what is wet plate collodion about. Most of people have no clue what collodion photography is about.
It is really impossible to make a good (not blurry) portrait with natural light in the late afternoon if the exposure time is about 20 seconds or more.

There was very hot weather – not good for collodion. And here are a few examples of my work from that day.

Bára, Tintype, Eastman Kodak

Bara, Tintype, about 21 seconds ! in the tree shadow, late afternoon, Eastman Kodak 2D

Hugo, Tintype, about 12 seconds wide open aperture, close to evening, Eastman Kodak 2D

Peter, Tintype, Eastman Kodak

Peter, Tintype, about 12 seconds wide open aperture, almost evening, Eastman Kodak 2D
