Jan Kratochv\u00edl (*1969)<\/p>\n

Po kr\u00e1tkodob\u00fdch pobytech v zahrani\u010d\u00ed \u017eiji od roku 1999 v centru m\u00e9 rodn\u00e9 T\u0159eb\u00ed\u010de, kterou m\u00e1m velmi r\u00e1d a neust\u00e1le ji nejen fotograficky pozn\u00e1v\u00e1m. Fotografii se v\u011bnuji aktivn\u011b asi od roku 2005. Za\u010dal jsem s digit\u00e1ln\u00ed technikou a po n\u011bkolika letech pozn\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed jsem p\u0159e\u0161el ve sv\u00e9 tvorb\u011b p\u0159ev\u00e1\u017en\u011b na analogovou cestu od kinofilmu p\u0159es st\u0159edn\u00ed a\u017e po velk\u00fd form\u00e1t.<\/p>\n

V sou\u010dasn\u00e9 dob\u011b (2019) se v\u011bnuji digit\u00e1ln\u00ed (Fujifilm X-T3<\/a>) a analogov\u00e9 fotografii. Pro portr\u00e9ty a volnou tvobu vyu\u017e\u00edv\u00e1m z anlogov\u00e9 fotografie p\u0159edev\u0161\u00edm mokr\u00fd kolodiov\u00fd proces, ale m\u00e1 fotografick\u00e1 cesta se touto technikou zcela neuzav\u00edr\u00e1. S p\u0159irozenou intuic\u00ed a dovednost\u00ed vol\u00edm pro m\u00e9 komer\u010dn\u00ed, neziskov\u00e9 a vlastn\u00ed projekty vhodn\u00e9 fotografick\u00e9 m\u00e9dium, kter\u00e9 pak uplat\u0148uji v praxi.\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

English\u00a0Curriculum Vitae (Photography)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jan Kratochvil is a Czech freelance photographer, educator.
\nThis short summary describes his activities in the field of photography.<\/p>\n

Jan has been interested in photography since childhood, originally using 35 mm cameras. Throughout his life, Jan has retained his fascination but rekindled his interest in earnest in 2004 when he acquired his first DSLR. After exploring the world of digital photography he returned to the medium of photographic film, using various 35mm cameras and testing different types of film.<\/p>\n

Jan soon acquired a Hasselblad medium format camera and believes that photographs taken in close up with the 150 mm portrait lens accompanied by the use of extension tubes have exceptional qualities.<\/p>\n

To further refine the results Jan moved to a larger format and an Eastman Kodak 2D 8×10\u201d camera was the next piece of equipment that was added to his collection. The Kodak 2D has a modified film container such that the camera can work with wet plate collodion photography.<\/p>\n

Wet plate collodion photography is a truly outstanding medium. \u00a0It is possible to create positive photography instantly using a process originated in the 19th century. A particular strength of the wet plate collodion process is the ability to create negatives on the glass which in turn can be used to create contact prints. A few examples of contact prints using this process are salt prints, albumen prints, Bromoils and Rawlins Print, but there are many other possibilities.<\/p>\n

Jan\u2019s extensive experience gives him an excellent understanding of what taking photographs is all about. His aim is to produce a limited number of high-quality photographs focusing on the content of the picture rather than the quantity of the output.<\/p>\n

Creating digital pictures is simple. By attending a few workshops and abiding by a few common rules you are ready to start your own business with just a DSLR camera and some speed lights. \u00a0Jan\u2019s goal is to create \u201csomething unique\u201d and in his quest to achieve this he has extensively explored the fascinating world of historical photographic processes.<\/p>\n
